No more stunts. After everything that's happened to DA members after being outed and even suspected, I don't think anyone else should risk his or her neck. It's not worth our well beings, and we can keep doing things on the quiet. Who knows what will happen later - if Harry will return - and I want to be in all right form for it.

I wanted to let you know that I'm sorry about your parents, Anthony. I hope they and your brother are safe. There are people out there aiding Muggles and Muggle-borns; hopefully your family finds them. Maybe Potterwatch will have some information, too. You could ask Ginny to check around with her family members over Easter break. They might know something.

It's really crap about your Prefect badge, too. I know I wasn't Prefect for very long, and never would have been Prefect under normal circumstances, but the demotion is just salt in a wound. They've made it pretty clear that IS members are more important, anyway.

Anyway, I just wanted to say - or write, rather - that.

Hagrid is having a party, Friday evening, in honor of Harry. He told me this morning.

I'd like to help him. The main problem we'll have to worry about is making sure it's safe so no-one has to worry about being caught and punished. Hagrid has good intentions, but I'm not sure he'll be able to help us, aside for sending us all into the Forbidden Forest if the Carrows or Snape gets wind of it. That's not exactly reassuring, either. I was thinking about how we might be able to avoid that, and it involves planting more bugs or having an extra set of ears in the castle. Or maybe someone/something stationed near the Entrance door. What do you think?

At any rate, he'd like a crowd, so maybe you could spread the word to people whom you trust, and who support Harry? I think this ought to be bigger than the DA - it's a good reason to branch out and see who shows up. It would be excellent to see more than just the DA and some other Gryffindors there.

Bugger. I promised myself I wasn't going to lose any more important pieces of parchment, and I can't find one of the family trees Auntie Enid sent me. No-one would be able to trace it back to me since it was copied out of some old book and doesn't include my direct family line, but still.

Yesterday went off without much of a hitch, which is a good thing. Did you see the Carrows' faces? And I heard several other students worrying about family trees being published, too. It was a bit funny considering most family trees aren't usually completely pure.

On a more serious note, Dark Arts class confirmed a worry I've had for a while. If this is where punishments are going, we have to be really careful. Other students shouldn't be put in the position to use an Unforgivable, and no-one should have the Cruciatus Curse used on them, either, by a student OR the Carrows.

That's it, really. I know everyone probably realizes it, but the DA doesn't need to be blamed for students doing the Cruciatus on top of everything else. I realize not everyone will refuse if the Carrows are breathing down their necks, and the people who don't are going to blame us for putting them in that position in the first place. We won't earn support that way.

For those of you who aren't aware, the Quibbler is no longer in print because Xenophilius Lovegood was taken to Azkaban. There's still no word about Luna.

On a more positive note, Harry Potter and Hermione Granger were sighted at his home, before an accident reduced it to rubble. I've no idea if they were trying to get information about Luna, but they escaped Death Eaters who showed up at the house. He's still out there doing things. We shouldn't give up hope.

My Great Aunt Enid sent me a copy of her family tree today, and I've finally found a connection to the Carrows. I'm going to have a better look and see what I can come up with in terms of tracing their family line.

Is anyone else having any luck? Gran says very few families, if any, have a family tree that's completely Pureblooded, and if they do, that's because trimming has been involved. She's been helping me quite a bit, actually.

Oh, and Happy New Year.

I should have made sure I knew where Trevor was before attending Dark Arts today. I felt like going round and examining every toad in the room, just in case. Snape's really met his matches with the Carrows. I don't think I'll ever forget the time he made me disembowel toads for detention. I felt the same way after class today. Sick. Just sick.

Maybe I should ask Hagrid to keep Trevor for me.

Yesterday evening, Ginny, Luna, and I went to explore the passages out of the castle. This probably won't come as a huge surprise, but instead of finding a way into Hogsmeade, we discovered a Dementor guarding the other end. The fogs have been pretty bad lately, and even if Dementors are under Ministry control, we know who's heading up the Ministry. That Dementor could easily invade the castle, if it had reason.

When's the last time everyone practiced a Patronus? I was thinking - we ought to start defense again. Proper defense, like Harry taught us. And at the very least, it will be helpful defending ourselves against IS members.

Sometimes, the Sorting Hat's songs and um, warnings, are worth remembering. Two years ago, it told us that discord within the school might cause the end of Hogwarts. Friend against friend and all that. I can't quite remember the words. I know discord with some houses is inevitable, but if we're turning on each other, too, it will only be worse.

I know we're not all friends, and I'm as guilty of disliking certain people as anyone, but I was just thinking about it yesterday, and um well I just thought it was worth pointing out.

I was thinking about everyone who's sitting at that stupid table the Carrows devised, and how they've all got to share a pitiful amount of scraps between them, and something occurred to me. Ginny, didn't the twins know ways out of the castle? I remember them bringing things back for Quidditch parties and thought that maybe we could use those passages to bring in extra food (even candy) for people. You know, from Hogsmeade.

I want to check it out. People would appreciate the DA a whole lot more if we could supply them with food when the Carrows won't. Will you come with me?

So how does everyone feel about their Flitterblooms? Do you reckon you'll get a good mark on your project?

I've been thinking on the stuff we talked about and could use a second opinion.

I haven't worked out McLaggen's timetable yet, so maybe before detention, tomorrow evening? We can leave dinner a bit early. He's got it in his head that threatening and bullying me is effective, so I wouldn't put it past him to stalk me, too. Knowing I'm getting ready for detention ought to put him off. He can imagine me breaking my teeth on rock cakes before I meet my end, trampled by Centaurs in the Forbidden Forest. It's better than any prediction by Professor Trelawney.

We can talk about it more tonight. Hopefully Hagrid will just have us feeding Thestrals or something.
